The first of two games City will play in the space of 24-hours ended in stalemate.
However, City will undoubtedly be happier with the point than Eastbourne Borough, although both sides remain outside the drop zone.

Borough occupy 20th place and have 45 points with three games left – two clear of Dartford in 21st.

For Truro, they inched closer to the magical 50-point mark, but still have five games left to play before the April 20 cut off point, including a trip to Dartford on the final day.

In a game of few clear-cut chances, Tyler Harvey and Tom Harrison both went close for City after the break, while Eastbourne’s best chance fell to Yahya Bamba, but he failed to test James Hamon in the City goal.

The hosts made five changes from the side that were defeated 2-1 by struggling Torquay at Meadow Park on Monday evening.

Bournemouth loan duo Lewis Brown and Archie Harris started after impressing against Aveley while Harvey returned after he suffered a facial injury against Hemel Hemsptead on April 4.
Adam Porter was fit enough to start after shaking off a foot problem and he was joined by Dan Rooney in midfield, completing the City changes.

The early exchanges, as expected, were cagey with Truro looking to play on the counter, while Eastbourne had the lion’s share of possession.

The first chance of note did fall the way of the visitors after 17 minutes when David Sesay’s shot took a deflection off his team mate Matt Green and went narrowly wide of the post.

City’s first effort came just shy of the half hour mark as the outstanding Rooney, who bossed things in midfield throughout, fed Harvey whose rising shot just cleared the crossbar.

As the interval approached, Finn Ballard-McBride found Bamba and as he drove towards goal, the Ivorian shot wide when he should have done better.

The second stanza continued in a similar pattern to the first, with neither side able to stamp their collective authority on proceedings.

But without doubt, City had the two best chances of the half and perhaps the game overall, after the turnaround. On the hour, the ball fell to Tom Harrison in the box and his shot was well saved by Harrison Foulkes in the Sports goal.

And then, into the final 10 minutes, Harvey was denied his 11th goal of the season by the visiting custodian, inside the six-yard box.

Harvey also had a good chance to test Foulkes again in the dying embers of stoppage time when City were awarded a free-kick. But the former Plymouth Argyle forward couldn’t hit the target and the full-time whistle sounded shortly after.
