NEW SIGNING WILL DEAN SPEAKS FOLLOWING HIS RETURN TO THE CLUB

Following this morning’s announcement that Truro City Football Club have secured the services of talented young midfielder Will Dean.

The midfielder spoke to trurocityfc.net revealing his delight of returning to the club and getting to work with Paul Wotton once again.

“I’m really happy to be back. Paul has shown a lot of interest in me as soon as he found out I wasn’t staying at Exeter and obviously having had a successful time there before, I think it’s the best place for me to come and play again.”

Will had received offers from other clubs from higher divisions but Will turned those down for an opportunity to be part of the project here at Truro City.

“The way the Gaffer sort of laid out the future sold it for me. The clubs going in the right direction and I’m here and ready to help in that.”

In his last spell two seasons ago, we narrowly missed out on promotion due to the campaign being declared null and void. Will feels he has a bit of unfinished business with the club and his aims are simple.

“Promotion is definitely the main aim but from a personal point of view I just need to play football again. After having a disrupted season last year with not much football I just feel like I need to be playing regularly.”

The midfielder also admitted that the current squad of players played a big role in him signing

“That’s another big reason as to why I signed back. I had a great time when I was here two seasons ago and the lads all made me feel so welcome. I know most of the lads, so it feels quite easy coming back and settling back in again.”

There is plenty of competition in the midfield area, but Will is glad that is the case.

“It’s always good to have competition, that’s what makes teams and players better.”
