TIME FOR REFLECTION

The last three matches have been difficult. The last match was particularly challenging - all of us would like to win every game, it's in our DNA.

I am confident that Steve T and his team are coming to terms with the extremely competitive nature of the National League South.
Yesterday’s opposition, Oxford City was without doubt a well-disciplined, organised team and probably the best I have witnessed this season. It has to be said that we were punished for the many mistakes and it was demoralising to concede so many goals, especially on home territory. I will also say that matches are just not won on Saturday, preparation and attention to detail are very important.

Given the facilities available to the majority of the Teams within the League and Geographical Location nobody with knowledge of the Sport will argue that we are at a disadvantage. It will take time to adjust to this League, during which we may have to make changes both on and off the Pitch to ensure we remain competitive and achieve our goals.

Both Philip and I are fully committed to Steve, Wayne, Support Team and the Players, if Steve requires more Players or indeed other resources he will get them. As Chairman and Vice Chairman we recognise that we operate at a disadvantage, which is the price we pay for living in, arguably the most beautiful part of the country. We also must not forget our recent turbulent history.

We will have our ups and our downs throughout the season, right now we are having our downs. I have long accepted there will always be a few who will take any opportunity like now to “put the boot in” at a time when we are vulnerable, thankfully I know the majority of you will rally around and give the understanding and support needed to get back on track.

It is early days in our campaign but let no one underestimate Philip or mine commitment to progress with the same spirit that got us promoted last season against all odds.
Team Truro City will deliver.

Chairman
