Truro City are also pleased to announce the signing of young striker Obed Yeboah from AFC Wimbledon following a successful trial period with the club.

18-year-old Yeboah joins the White Tigers on a permanent basis after impressing in pre-season.

The striker played in the friendly victories over both Helston Athletic and Falmouth Town where he caught the eye of Manager Paul Wotton.

“Obed is someone we’ve had down during pre-season. He played a couple of 45 minutes for us. He’s a little bit behind fitness-wise but he’s a strong powerful player and something different to what we’ve got. I’m excited to get working with him.”

Obed, who is the nephew of former Leeds United striker Tony Yeboah started his career with AFC Wimbledon where he came through the club’s academy system.

He made his professional debut in March against Barrow in League Two last season.

He ended the campaign with a work experience loan at Corinthian Casuals in the Isthmian League before he was released by the Dons in May.

The young forward can’t wait to get started.

“I’m extremely pleased to get this done and join such an exciting club. After leaving my old side I wanted a new challenge in men’s football, and I believe this is the best club for me.”

Welcome to the Truro City, Obed.
