PRESS RELEASE 25 MAY 2023

The owners of the two biggest professional sports clubs in Cornwall, the Cornish Pirates and Truro City Football Club, have today launched an exciting crowdfunding campaign aimed at raising £2.5m for both clubs.

The announcement was made by Kernow Sport Limited, a new umbrella company
designed to safeguard the future of professional rugby and football in the Duchy.

The crowdfunding campaign provides ordinary members of the public, as well as
more established investors, with an exciting opportunity to invest in professional
sport in Cornwall.

Both the Cornish Pirates and Truro City Football Club have strong aspirations to
grow and develop.

This season, the Cornish Pirates reached 5th in the Championship and the
semi-finals of the Championship Cup.

Meanwhile Truro City Football Club won the Southern League Premier South play-off
final and gained promotion to National League South.

Investors will be able to contribute as little as £10, but an exciting range of rewards
will be unveiled in the coming weeks in return for higher contributions.

The crowdfund campaign is being coordinated using the specialist fundraising
platform Crowdcube, which is Europe’s largest equity crowdfunding platform allowing
ordinary members of the public to buy shares in exciting businesses.

People will be able to register an account with Crowdcube and express interest in
investing in Kernow Sport Ltd from today, and anyone registered will be then invited
to make their investment from June 2023.

Becki Thomas, Chief Executive Officer at Kernow Sport Ltd, said: “Both our clubs
have been flying the St Piran flag with pride in English sport. This is a unique and rare opportunity to not just be a fan, but to own your own part of professional sport in
Cornwall.

“Working with our amazing community of fans and investors in this way means we
can ensure the clubs have a solid future. We are now in advanced discussions with
Cornwall Council and look forward to getting a new ground for our clubs up and
running as soon as possible, and getting Truro City FC back playing football in
Cornwall.”

Kernow Sport Ltd Director Dicky Evans said: “It has been the honour of my life to take the Cornish Pirates into the top 20 of English Rugby and more recently to ensure that despite no home ground in Cornwall, that Truro City’s team were well funded and able to get promoted. It is a privilege to be a shareholder in these teams, and now that Kernow Sport owns both,
I am delighted that it has opened the door to fans and investors to own a part of
Pirates and TCFC and be fundamental to their success.

“Fan ownership is a well worn path in other clubs and has given life and security to
teams around the UK. TCFC and Pirates under Kernow Sport, are allowing new fan
shareholders to come in on a rising tide of sporting success to be a part of an even
greater future.”

Cornish Pirates Joint Head Coach Alan Paver said: “This is an incredible opportunity
to support our club and help develop the squad. All you need to do is register your
interest on the Kernow Sport Ltd page of the Crowdcube website and the chance to
invest will be announced soon. For one and all!”

Truro City FC Head Coach Paul Wotton said: “This has been an incredible year for
the White Tigers and making it possible for our loyal fans to invest in our
development is the icing on the cake. I urge all Truro City fans, their families and
friends to visit the Crowdcube page and register their interest as soon as possible.”
