STRIKER JOINS FOR REST OF 23-24

BY GARETH DAVIES

Truro City are delighted to announce the permanent signing of forward Josh Hinds, until the end of the 2023-24 Vanarama National League South campaign.

The 20-year-old began his career with Premier League and current UEFA Conference champions West Ham United.

He then moved north to join Championship outfit Hull City as a scholar in 2019. Progressing into the Tigers' under-21 set up, Hinds made his professional debut for Hull against AFC Bournemouth in August 2021.

Hinds' next first team action came in the same season as a substitute in Hull's third round FA Cup defeat to Everton.

Before leaving the KCom Stadium in the summer of 2023, Hinds also served Spalding, Boston United and Bradford Park Avenue on loan.

Without a club for the first half of this current campaign, Hinds moved to Scotland with second tier side Queens Park. However, owing to issues with Hinds obtaining international clearance, he did not make any appearances for the Spiders, leaving the Glasgow side as a free agent, which paved the way for his move to City.

"I'm 100 per cent looking to get going straight away," Hinds told trurocity.co.uk. "I like to make things happen on the pitch by being positive and creative.

"I play with a smile on my face and want to see smiles on the faces of the fans when I pull on a Truro shirt. I have played in the National League North before so know what this level is all about and I am excited to have signed for Truro.

Meanwhile, City boss Paul Wotton, added: "With our hectic fixture schedule, bringing Josh in helps bolster our squad.

"He has started at West Ham and then gone to Hull City and played minutes at senior level. He has something about him which is why he went to Scotland and despite that move not working out, we are delighted to have him with as at Truro City."
