Chairman delighted with start to the new season

So far, so good then. Two games down, two wins and six points on the board, we couldn`t have asked for a better start could we.

Last Saturday against Welling United was a terrific occasion for everyone. I was delighted with the size of the crowd, there was a great atmosphere inside the stadium and our injury time winner proved the icing of the cake. We then followed that up with a professional performance on Monday evening, at Evesham United, in beating Gloucester City 3-0. Gloucester are a good side at this level but we thoroughly deserved our victory which of course maintained our winning start.

However, although I am delighted with the way that we have started the campaign, it is only a start and we must keep it up. We need everyone behind Lee, Chris and the team and the support in both of our games was superb. I would like to thank everyone who made the trip to Evesham on Monday and would like you all to know that your support is very much appreciated by myself and everyone else associated with the club.

Off the field we have appointed Russell Keeble as our new football secretary and he takes over from Ian Rennie who has done a fine job over the years for us. I welcome Russell on board and thank Ian for his service with us.

Winning breeds winning and we need to keep the momentum going both on and off the pitch. Our Super Seven tickets have gone down really well and another batch are on order and if we are to achieve our hopes and ambitions then it is important to generate more and more income from Commercial activities. Therefore if you know of anyone who would like to support the club in any commercial way then please make contact with myself.

We face a long trip to Essex, as we face Concord Rangers, and I`m sure we will be backed by our usual travelling contingent and then on Tuesday evening we face what is almost a local-derby when we host Bath City and I hope a large crowd will be in attendance.
