JAMIE Molyneux proved the key man for Redditch United on Monday as his half time introduction sparked a Reds revival and inspired a 3-1 victory over Truro City in the Southern League Premier Division.
The win lifted Liam McDonald’s side - who drew 0-0 at Biggleswade Town on Saturday - into 12th place and they remain well on course for a top ten finish.
United fell behind on Monday when an error by Ashley Sammons allowed Jamie Lowry (pictured) to net from 20 yards for City, but the hosts emerged a different side after the break as Molyneux took the fight to the visitors.
Sammons made amends for his earlier mistake with a 20-yard strike which found the bottom left corner in the 62nd minute and nine minutes later Redditch were ahead when fellow midfielder Sam Youngs headed home from a corner.
Home keeper Sam Hornby capped a solid display with an alert block to deny Ben Watson an equaliser and United took full advantage to seal a deserved victory in the fourth minute of stoppage time when teenager Cameron Young - the latest youngster to break into the first team - netted with a rebound after Sammons had seen his strike parried.
