Truro went down to their first away defeat losing 4-2, but not without a fight and as importantly lots of positives to learn from as the season moves on.
A groin problem meant skipper Jake Ash missed his first game of the season, while Jordan Copp was the only other change from City's starting eleven midweek at Totton.
The first half hour was shaded by City although neither side really forced either 'keeper into too much action.
Truro's best chance coming from a Cody Cooke well struck shot on 22 minutes which was palmed away by Shane Gore for a corner.
However as the half went on Chesham came more into the match - Drew Roberts stabbed over the bar from 8 yards out, and then after a good run down the left by Toby Little, Chris Dillon, on 38 minutes put Chesham in front turning and finding the corner of City's net.
Four minutes later it was more bad news for City when the referee blew for a foul by Quinn on Roberts in the box. The No 10 tucked away the resultant spot kick, giving the scoreline a look that the visitors didn't deserve.
However the goal of the match came on the 45th minute when Matt Andrew surprised everyone with a volley from 30 yards which rifled into the roof of the Chesham net, their keeper not moving! The Meadows probably won't see a better goal there all season.
Seven minutes into the second half however Chesham went further ahead when Chris Dillon beat the high line of the Truro defence and raced onto goal and rounded Chenoweth to make it 3-1.
Substitute Seb Broomfield (on for Les Afful) gave City another lifeline when he put away a Neil Slateford pull back from the goal line, making it 3-2 and the striker could have then levelled the game. On his first opportunity he went too wide around the opponent's keeper running the ball out of play, and then with the second chance shooting across the face of the goal with his effort being deflected off for a corner.
With just over 10 minutes remaining Roberts headed home a Dillon left wing cross at the far post to finally secured the 3 points for Chesham.
Truro may have lost for the first time on the road this season, but manager Steve Massey was full of praise and positives about his team's performance against one of the best sides in the Southern Premier.
Next week sees FA Cup action come to Treyew Road with Street the opponents.
