With new signing Paul Quinn unable to make the trip to Totton, skipper Jake Ash returned to right back, Shane White switched across to left-back with Neil Slateford making his first start of the season on the right side of midfield, allowing Andrew to play a more central role.
Upfront Jared Sims came in for his first start since Bashley to partner Les Afful and the pair made a first half impact with both getting on the score sheet. Sims after 29 minutes and Afful three minutes, chipping the home side’s ‘keeper, after an eight pass move, summing up City’s first half dominance.
Liam Eddy came on after the break for Afful, taken off just as a precaution after his hamstring, the other one this time, began to trouble him.
The game began to turn though as Totton turned up the tempo, City began to sit deeper and deeper and by the 70th minute the match was all-square through goals from Luke Roberts and a Ryan Hill free-kick, drilled in from just outside the penalty area.
However, from Totton looking as if they would go onto win, City showed character and guts to get back in the contest and thoroughly deserve the late winner. Seb Broomfield, on for Sims in the 75th minute, flicked the ball on for Andrew to get between Totton’s two central defenders and claim his first goal for the club and cap a great personal performance.
