WHITE TIGERS BATTLE OUT A POINT

THE WHITE Tigers displayed our never-say-die attitude with a last minute equaliser to draw 1-1 at Hemel Hempstead Town.
We came out of the blocks in determined mood and Niall Thompson went close with an early strike. Then Banton cut inside and made room for a strike which flew just over.
As we continued to ask the questions, a corner caused problems for the home side but Banton was off target with his header.
Despite our positive start, it was the home side who took the lead when Watt took advantage of some hesitant defending to open the scoring.
We refused to let our heads drop and set above the task of getting back into the game. A neat passage of play ended with Banton going close and then some more good passing ended with another effort going wide as the opening period came to a close.
Neither side was able to get into their stride in the early exchanges of the second half.
We had shouts for a penalty waved away after a home defender appeared to handle the ball inside the area.
Shortly afterwards, a chance opened up for River Allen who fired over from distance.
There was a blow when Banton had to leave the action after picking up a knock, whilst Richards and Riley-Lowe also had to receive treatment having put their bodies on the line for the cause.
It was these battling qualities that were the hallmark of our play as the clock ticked down as we searched for an equaliser.
Our reward came in the final minute when another inviting set-piece from Riley-Lowe saw Lewington flick the ball beyond the reach of the ‘keeper to make it 1-1 and spark plenty of jubilation amongst the loyal travelling faithful.
We deserved to take something from the game as we put in a performance full of spirit and determination.
