THE WHITE Tigers slipped to a 2-1 defeat the hands of Chippenham Town at Plainmoor.
It took a while for the game to come to life as both sides cancelled each other out in the opening exchanges.
We went close with a couple of free-kicks from Connor Riley-Lowe and then Ed Palmer as we searched for a breakthrough.
The visitors grabbed an equaliser right on the stroke of half-time when a free-kick was delivered into the danger zone and Will Richards found space to head home.
As we searched for a way back into the game, a neat move on the hour-mark saw Tom Richards and Tyler Harvey link up to present Jon-Paul Pittman with a shooting chance but his effort was well saved by the visitors’ ‘keeper.
It wasn’t long until our goal came, though, as Niall Thompson found the net from distance as the ball sailed over the ‘keeper and into the net.
Instead of taking the initiative, we allowed our visitors to get back into the game and they regained their lead on 75 minutes when a cross from the right picked out Nat Jarvis who guided the ball beyond the reach of Jojo Woollacott.
As the clock ticked down, we had some neat passages of play but we found our visitors’ defence in resolute mood to keep up at bay as they protected their lead.
There was no way through as we lost our second game in a row at Plainmoor.
