Ben Harding's first game in interim charge ends level...

THE WHITE Tigers added another point to our tally with a 2-2 draw at Eastbourne Borough.
The home side looked a threat on the break in the opening exchanges to give our back-line some cause for concern but we restricted them to only half-chances.
Dawes rattled the woodwork for the hosts with a shot on the turn before a neat move ended with Harvey gathering the ball bravely ahead of Walker.
After Cox went close for the home side, we broke down the other end and grabbed the lead against the run of play when Tyler Harvey beat his marker before slotting the ball home with a low strike to make it 1-0.
It was a goal somewhat out of the blue but we were unable to hold onto our lead for long as within five minutes Walker had levelled matters.
The game was starting to open up as the opening period went on with Ed Palmer stinging the fingers of the home ‘keeper.
Then with five minutes to go until the break we were awarded a penalty when Ransom brought down Jon-Paul Pittman inside the area.
The on-loan striker picked himself up, dusted himself down and then sent the ‘keeper the wrong way from the spot to put us back in front.
Leading going into the second half, our hosts went on the attack straight from the restart and a deft header from Walker crept just wide following an inviting cross from Cox.
As Eastbourne attacked, we hit them on the counter-attack and Tyler Harvey went close with a low strike.
There was a let-off for us when Cox failed to convert Martin’s teasing ball into the danger zone and then Walker did well to set up Martin whose attempt was bravely blocked by Niall Thompson.
We were soaking up plenty of pressure from the home side as Martin went close again and then we survived load appeals for a penalty when Cox went down inside the area.
Harvey did well to deny Dawes but he was finally beaten on 83 minutes when a neat move was finished off by Mike West to make it 2-2.
We had to survive some home pressure in the closing stages but we stayed resolute to battle out the point and make it two away games unbeaten in Ben Harding’s first game in interim charge.
