Hard-earned away win to make it four victories in a row...

THE WHITE Tigers made it four wins in a row with a hard-fought 3-1 victory at Eastbourne Borough as we battled back from a goal down.
The early action saw a tame header from Cody Cooke comfortably gathered by the ‘keeper.
Both teams had half-chances before it proved to be an unlucky 13th minute for us when our hosts took the lead as they were able to launch a breakaway after one of our corners broke down and Odubade applied the finish.
As we looked to hit back, Jordan Copp was unlucky with an effort that dipped just over whilst Cooke went down just inside the area as our appeals for a penalty were waved away.
The home team were looking the most likely side at this stage and Taylor saw his strike well saved by Tom McHale and then an inviting free-kick found its way to Dawes whose header crept wide.
We managed to get back on level terms just passed the half-hour mark when a neat passage of play ended with Tom Owen-Evans played through and he stayed calm to lift the ball over the advancing ‘keeper for his first goal for the club.
Boosted by the goal, it wasn’t long before the scoreline was turned on its head when a corner wasn’t properly cleared and Jamie Richards was on hand to turn the ball home from close range to make it 2-1.
It was a blow for the home side who had been on top with Odubade having an effort saved and then Dawes going close but we started to get a foot-hold into it as the opening period went on and we ended the half on top.
We made the perfect start to the second period as we extended our lead on 51 minutes as Niall Thompson teed up Cooke who managed to get in a strike that found the net via the far post.
There were more appeals for a penalty as Cooke went down in the area but once again, the referee was unimpressed as the game continued.
The home side went close to reducing the arrears when Odubade made room for a strike which he dragged wide of the target.
We were looking solid and in command as the clock ticked down. Aaron Lamont went close with a long-range strike whilst our back-line was frustrating the home side as couldn’t find the killer final ball.
A header from McCallum landed just over with 20 minutes to go then Taylor dragged wide as we held on to our lead.
The closing stages saw Cooke and then Tyler Harvey both denied as the home side got men back behind the ball but we held out to claim another important three points.
