MATCH REPORT - Bath City 4 Truro City 0 - 11/02/2017

It was the home side who took the lead just past the half-hour mark when skipper, Arran Pugh, was penalised for handling a strike from Frankie Artus. Axel Andersson stepped up and found the net despite the best efforts of Martin Rice who got his fingertips to the ball.
Despite finding ourselves a goal down, we refused to let our heads drop and kept plugging away in search of an equaliser.
Our endeavours were rewarded when substitute, Niall Thompson, got himself into a good position before being felled by Andersson and the referee pointed to the spot for the second time in the game.
It was Thompson himself who stepped up but his effort was well saved by Max O’Leary and this proved to be a key moment in the game as it galvanised the home side who pressed forward and doubled their advantage with ten minutes to go when Billy Murphy tried his luck and his strike took a wicked deflection to beat Rice.
The goal was tough luck on The White Tigers, who were able to introduce club Legend, Stewart Yetton from the bench late on, and worse was to follow when former City man, Andy Watkins, linked up with Nick McCootie to score against his former club.
There was still time in stoppage for Watkins to notch his second and make it a final scoreline of 4-0 to the home side.
