he opening goal arrived just before the half-hour mark when an inviting corner from Zane Sole found the head of Rocky Neal who planted the ball beyond the ‘keeper.
But the goal only acted to spark the home side to life and they had turned the scoreline on its head before the break as Tom Wraight bagged a brace.
The next goal was always going to be crucial and it came for our hosts on 63 minutes when Kane Ferdinand found the back of the net.
It wasn’t long before Wraight completed his hat-trick and then Ben Marlow added a fifth goal as City’s collapse saw us concede three goals in as many minutes.
The goals meant that the game was over with more than 20 minutes still to play as Truro suffered another heavy defeat at the hands of our opponents from Essex.
There was a run-out for the returning Dan Smith as the clock ticked down but it proved to be a miserable pre-Christmas clash for Lee Hodges’ side.
