We started the game with purpose and enjoyed the majority of possession in the opening exchanges with Jonathon Henly in this visitors’ goal the busier of the two ‘keepers.
The only thing lacking from our first half display was a goal to show for our efforts as we displayed plenty of hard work and endeavour.
It was pleasing to see that we stuck to our task in hand after the restart and it took just six minutes into the second period for our reward to arrive when an inviting cross was met with a powerful header from Jamie Richards that flew into the net.
The goal gave us a real boost and it came as no surprise when our lead was doubled shortly afterwards as Niall Thompson managed to get the ball into the danger zone where River Allen was on hand to guide the ball beyond the despairing dive of Henly.
With the crowd right behind us we continued to push forward but Henly kept his side in it with a string of fine saves, whilst at the other end, the Truro back-line was in solid form with Erik Panzer in particular having a commanding game.
Towards the end leading scorer, Thompson, went close to getting his name on the scoresheet as we celebrated back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
Now let’s continue to build on this momentum. ..
