There were early half-chances at either end as both teams looked to get into their stride.
River Allen and Ollie Knowles went close with free-kicks that posed questions for the home ‘keeper, whilst at the other end, Danny Kedwell fired wide and Sean Shields was denied by some brave defending from debutant, Durrell Berry.
A smart save from Tom McHale kept the home side at bay but he was finally beaten on 27 minutes when some neat play ended with Jack Powell sweeping the ball home.
We refused to let our heads drop and continued to battle for a way back into the game.
The equaliser arrived just before the break when Niall Thompson, who had missed an opportunity moments earlier, was on hand to find the net following an inviting ball in from the right.
With the scores level, The White Tigers were giving as good as they got in an evenly-matched encounter, but our hosts were able to get their noses back in front with just under 15 minutes to go when Powell showed another moment of quality to curl home from the edge of the area.
It was deflating for Truro as our hosts gained momentum and maintained the pressure to add a third goal shortly afterwards when a low strike from Shields found the net with the aid of a deflection along the way.
A fourth goal soon followed when the impressive Powell put a corner to the far post where Kenny Clark was on hand to head home.
Truro had the final word when Rocky Neal reduced the arrears in stoppage time as he headed home to make it 4-2.
