Truro City 2 Corby Town 1
A game which started disastrously for City against the league leaders, ended in joy as Shane White's late penalty ensured Steve Tully's side can finish no lower than third in the table, meaning a home tie in the first of the end of season play-off games.
That had looked a long way off when City went behind after only four minutes when young keeper Tom McHale misjudged Stephan Morley's long range free kick as it slipped through his hands and into the net.
It was just the start the home side did not want against a powerful Corby side, who can still win the league despite today's defeat if they win their two final matches at Weymouth and Poole Town.
But the home side dug deep and grew into the game without being able to find the killer touch in front of goal, with Craig Duff heading home only to have his effort ruled out for offside.
However, they finished the half on the up and carried that into the second half with a quick equaliser as Craig Duff pounced on Matt Wright's flicked header to blast the ball home past excellent Corby keeper Paul Walker from the right of the area. It was Duff's 21st goal of the season.
City continued to press , though Corby still carried a threat and the game looks to be heading for a draw.
However, with three minutes left Wright headed on McHale's long clearance to substitute Isaac Vassell who was brought down in the area by Kalern Thomas for a stonewall penalty.
And up stepped White to hammer the ball into the roof of the net for the winner and send the home side wild with delight.
The only slightly sour note was a couple of so called Corby supporters coming onto the pitch and both were later ejected from the ground.
That though could not take away from another fine City performance as they stretched their unbeaten home run to 13 matches.
