Truro City boss Steve Tully praised his side despite a last minute 3-2 Southern League Premier defeat at Biggleswade Town.
City were undone by a stoppage time goal from former Welling United striker Loick Pires after hauling themselves back into the game from 2-0 down to level.
Tully said: “It’s the best we have played all season and the real disappointment I guess is that we have got nothing to show for it, because we conceded another soft goal and there wasn’t time to restart.
“The positive I will take from the game is that we finally had a game which we dominated for long spells and created so many chances.”
Craig Duff’s tenth goal for Truro made it 2-1 before new striker Matt Wright – recently signed from Bideford – headed City level.
Biggleswade led through Zane Banton’s 34th minute opener and doubled their lead when the scorer set up Kelvin Bossman to make it 2-0.
The Waders were reduced to 10 men following a foul on substitute Barry Hayles and City strike pair Hayles and Wright took full advantage to set up a pulsating finale.
Tully said: “Matt Wright had another man of the match game and a header ruled out in the first half. If that had stood then I am sure it would have been a totally different outcome because we created so many chances. I should be down because we lost but the performance has lifted me.”
