WHITE TIGERS EASE THROUGH

THE WHITE Tigers made progress in the Buildbase FA Trophy with a commanding 3-0 victory over Greenwich Borough.
We came out of the blocks with plenty of determination and an effort from Leigh-Gilchrist went close within the opening minute.
A neat passage of play ended with Thompson seeing his effort blocked as Harvey fired wide from the rebound.
We were looking the most likely side as Harvey fired wide from a good position before Lewington showed good feet before being denied by the visitors’ ‘keeper.
At the other end, Brown fired well over before his side survived a spell of pressure which saw Allen and Leigh-Gilchrist hit the woodwork in quick succession.
The goal that we had threatened soon arrived as Riley-Lowe lashed home beyond the reach of the ‘keeper.
Having gone behind, our visitors looked to hit back straight away as Walters saw a strike whistle past the post and then Olusanya showed quick feet before lashing an effort wide.
It was to signal a spell of pressure from our visitors as they looked for a leveller.
Right on the stroke of half-time, Harvey flicked the ball on to Thompson who was thwarted by the ‘keeper.
The early action in the second half saw us double our advantage as Riley-Lowe fired home his second of the afternoon.
We almost added another when Rooney found Lewington who was unlucky, whilst Allen saw a strike clear the crossbar.
A powerful drive from Thompson was bravely blocked before Riley-Lowe hit the side-netting.
Cave was denied by Buse who managed to push out his strike as the clock ticked down.
Out third goal arrived with ten minutes to go when substitute Keats was on hand to head the ball into the net to make it 3-0.
We were able to play with freedom in the closing stages as we made it through to the next round of the competition.
