Cirencester Town 0, Truro City 1
SHANE White's 86th minute penalty was enough to seal Truro City's place in the second round of the FA Trophy for the first time in the club's history.
City will now play against Macclesfield Town or Ashton United on Saturday January 16 after finally overcoming the Southern League premier division side after Saturday's 2-2 draw at Treyew Road. Macclesfield and Ashton will attempt to play again next Tuesday after their rearranged tie was postponed on Tuesday after Saturday's game was abandoned at half-time with Ashton leading 2-0.
With Tuesday night's tie heading for extra-time, White kept his cool from the spot to send his penalty past Town goalkeeper Glyn Garner.
City boss Steve Tully was left frustrated after seeing his side throw away a two-goal lead at the weekend. And they were given another tough test by the Centurions on Tuesday night.
Ellis Dunton had an early chance for Cirencester when he headed over the bar, while at the other end Dan Green was unlucky to see his effort deflected over the bar.
Matt Wright was then presented with a glorious opportunity to score for Truro in the 12th minute, when one on one with Garner, but he could only send his shot wide.
Martin Rice was then called upon to keep out Ross Langworthy's effort, before captain Leigh Henry headed over the bar.
There were fewer chances after the break, and with the tie just minutes from extra-time, City were awarded a penalty following Garner's foul on substitute Isaac Vassell.
And White stepped up to beat the Cirencester goalkeeper to send City through.
