Falmouth Town 1 Truro City 4
City were made to work hard by managerless Falmouth before making it three pre-season wins out of four at Bickland Park on Tuesday evening.
The visitors took an early lead when Craig Duff's glancing header from a Shane White free-kick gave new Falmouth keeper Ryan Barnes no chance as it nestled in the far corner.
But that was how it stayed until early in the second half when Matt Wright easily headed home a cross from the right by Cody Cooke.
City though finished the stronger, with the pace of substitute Isaac Vassell causing panic in the home defence.
And it was Vassell who made 3-1 with a classy finish after 77 minutes before setting up City's fourth five minutes from time, with Les Afful getting the final touch as the ball ran loose.
It was a good work out for both sides, with Falmouth under the charge of caretaker Gary Pascoe following the resignation of Wayne Hughes at the weekend because of work and family commitments.
And Pascoe confirmed after the match he would be interested in taking the job on a full time basis.
City boss Steve Tully was relatively pleased with the night's work and impressed with the performance of new loan signing from Exeter City left back Connor Riley-Lowe.
After the game City skipper Jake Ash, who has his testimonial game game against Torquay United on Saturday, received the Aubrey Wilkes trophy awarded to the winners of the first game of the season between the two clubs.
