Witheridge 1 Truro City 5
City opened their pre-season programme with a comfortable win at Witheridge who play in the premier division of the Carlsberg SWPL.
Two goals from Matt Wright, a great strike from Cody Cooke, an own goal and a Shane White penalty eased City home as manager Steve Tully gave 20 players a run out.
New signing Martin Rice started in goal, while trialists Mason Hughes (ex-Plymouth Argyle), Simon Morgan (ex-Newport County) and Will Summerfield (ex MK Dons) were also named in the starting line-up.
Isaac Vassell was rested because of a slight twinge.
New signing Aaron Dawson started on the bench.
It took City until just before half time to take the lead through Wright and the same player made it 2-0 after 57 minutes after good work by Cooke.
Harry Taylor replied for the home side soon after, but a stunning 25-yard effort from Cooke soon made it 3-1.
An own goal gave City their fourth before White completed the scoring from the penalty spot.
After the game manager Steve Tully said: "It was a good run out for the lads.
"Everyone got some minutes and did well. But we won't be making any decisions on he trialists on the basis of just one game."
