Truro City out to seal fourth place in National League South

Truro City travel to Havant & Waterlooville today looking to secure the point that will ensure a fourth place in National League South and a two legged play-off promotion semi-final against Maidstone United next week.

City are already assured of finishing in the play-off places, after the midweek 1-1 home draw with Whitehawk, but a point from either tonight's game in Hampshire, or their final league match at home to Wealdstone on Saturday guarantees them fourth and the possibility of a home final.

If they lose both matches then their opponents will be runners-up Ebbsfleet Utd.

Truro boss Steve Tully is again expected to ring the changes as he tries to keep his squad fresh during a hectic end of season schedule.

Arran Pugh is expected to return after suffering a cut head in the 2-0 defeat at Basingstoke last Saturday, while fellow central defender Arran Bentley, who has missed City's last nine matches with injury, should also start.

Top scorer Isaac Vassell is expected to lead the attack after being a sub against Whitehawk.

On the injury front, Tully said Craig Duff had an outside chance of making the play-offs, while Connor Riley-Lowe was probably a "week away" from being able to return.

Jake Ash, who had to go off at the start of the second half against Whitehawk with a swollen knee, must also be doubtful

Tully said: "We have to try and keep the lads fresh. We are going up there to win the game not rest on our laurels

"We want to finish fourth and will do everything we can to do that."

The first leg of the play-off semi-final is at Treyew Road on Wednesday with the return game in Kent the following Sunday.
