Truro City Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Hodges as First Team Manager and Rory Fallon as Player-Coach. Both will join on a two-year deal.

Lee’s playing career started at Tottenham Hotspur and, after spells at Barnet and Reading, culminated in seven seasons and more than 230 appearances at Plymouth Argyle.

But Lee is, of course, best known at Truro City as manager of the club from 2010 to 2013. His first year in charge ended with promotion as Southern Premier League Champions to the Conference South, the highest level ever reached by the club. After a successful first season in non-league’s second tier, the club’s financial problems meant that Lee’s contract could not be renewed and he left in May 2013.

So Lee is delighted to be returning to Treyew Road for the 2016-17 season. He says:

“I’m looking forward to coming back to Truro and to getting back to the buzz of winning games. It’s all happened very quickly and it’s been a bit of a whirlwind but I feel like I have unfinished business at Treyew Road.”

Joining him as Player-Coach is Rory Fallon. The 34 year old, 6 ft 3 in New Zealand striker has played for, amongst others, Barnsley, Swindon Town and Swansea City. He joined Plymouth Argyle in 2007 where he made more than 100 appearances in three and a half seasons. Rory holds a UEFA ‘A’ Coaching Licence.

Rory is still very much a presence on the field as well. He has been capped 21 times for New Zealand and, having scored the goal that took his country to the World Cup Finals in South Africa in 2010, went on to play in that tournament. New Zealand were undefeated in the Group Stages, earning draws with Italy, Slovakia and Paraguay. Rory’s latest appearance for his country was just a few hours ago in a second round World Cup qualifier competition in Papua New Guinea.

With the 2018 World Cup very much in his sights, Rory will be continuing to play as well as coach for Truro City.
