Truro moved into 4th place in the National League South after narrowly defeating league strugglers Bath City.

Les Afful’s late double won the game for Truro after Shane White brought Truro level through a penalty in the 61st minute.

Despite the win, Manager Steve Tully said: “I thought we were well below our normal standards.”

Bath’s top goal-scorer David Pratt got Bath’s first and only goal in the 7th minute but the team in 18th place couldn't hold on to their lead.

Truro started the game in the ascendency when striker Isaac Vassell was presented with a one-on- one opportunity after a long ball from the back, but the effort was saved by the legs of Bath ‘keeper.

It was the away side who took the lead in the 7th minute after Liam Kelly’s hard cross found its way to Pratt who nodded comfortably into the net to make it 1-0.

Bath could have doubled their lead before the break after Pratt played the ball to Eliot Richards just outside the six-yard box, but his swivelled effort couldn’t beat Truro 'keeper Rice.

Truro made it 1-1 in the 61st minute from a White penalty, after Vassell was deemed to have been tripped by the Bath ‘keeper.

Truro then edged into the lead after substitute Afful volleyed the ball into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 in the 79th minute.

Afful doubled his tally in added time after Ollie Knowles’s corner fell into his path outside of the 18-yard box before firing home from range to make it 3-1 in the 94th minute.
