Plans and timetable for Silver Bow Stadium submitted to Cornwall Council

Helical Retail, the developers of Treyew Road and Silver Bow, have today submitted plans and a timetable for the construction of Truro City’s new stadium to Cornwall Council for approval.

The Delivery Programme shows the new facility at Silver Bow being handed over to Truro City on 28th July 2017. While this is a challenging schedule, everything is still in place for the club to be kicking off the 2017-18 season at the new stadium.

Feedback and comments on the plans are invited from supporters and can be submitted via email to: info@trurocityfc.net

Supporters will also no doubt have seen the recent news about a judicial review lodged by property developer Marsh & Baxter against Cornwall Council over the planning application that has been granted for the redevelopment of Treyew Road.

This has come about as a result of the Council’s decision to refuse Marsh & Baxter’s application in relation to housing and supermarket developments at Hendra. The developer has indicated that its response will be to challenge all planning consents for retail developments around the A390 corridor.

As Marsh & Baxter said: “Treyew Road is the first of the big retail schemes to actually have a planning decision issued by the council and therefore the first decision we are able to challenge.” Truro City is extremely disappointed that a large developer has chosen to pick on a local football club in this fashion, dragging Truro City into its dispute with Cornwall Council.

However, the club is confident that this latest turn of events will not have an impact on the timing of the delivery of the Silver Bow project. We will keep supporters updated with any further developments.
