2-0 reverse at the hands of Hampton & Richmond Borough...

THE WHITE Tigers fell to a 2-0 reverse at the hands of Hampton & Richmond Borough.
We made a purposeful start to proceedings with some confident spells of possession and efforts from Louis Rooney, which flew wide, and Tyler Harvey, which was saved by the ‘keeper.
The opening exchanges saw us ask a number of questions and Harvey went close again with a looping header that the ‘keeper did well to tip over the crossbar.
With 25 minutes on the clock, an inviting corner from Connor Riley-Lowe picked out the head of Ben Gerring who saw his effort fly just over.
Things were looking good until we were hit with a sucker-punch on 34 minutes when the visitors nicked the lead against the run of play when Dickson was able to turn the ball home from close range.
It was a blow for us and as we tried to regain our composure and go again, we fell further behind after a solo effort from Dundas.
Trailing 2-0 at the break after a half in which we were the better side for long periods was hard to take and we almost fell further behind early in the second period when a teasing low ball flashed straight across the face of goal.
There was an edge creeping into the game as the visitors held on to their lead despite our efforts to get back into the game.
Dickson fired over as our back-line was breached on a rare occasion in the second half, whilst at the other end, despite plenty of effort, we just couldn’t carve open the clear-cut chances to help us get back into the game.
In the end we were left to reflect upon a 2-0 defeat.

WHITE TIGERS: Woollacott, Thompson, Riley-Lowe, Palmer, J. Richards, Gerring, Harding (Hartridge 70), T. Richards, Keats, Harvey (Pittman 46), Rooney (Lewington 60). Subs not used: Palfrey, Bignot.
