Neal goal the difference against Chippenham Town...

THE WHITE Tigers battled out a fifth win in a row with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Chippenham Town at a decidedly wet Treyew Road.
We started the game with plenty of confidence and purpose with Tyler Harvey and Cody Cooke both posing questions of the visitors’ defence with the latter seeing an effort go close just past the 20-minute mark.
It was Cooke again who saw a low strike blocked as we upped the pressure in search of the opening goal but the Chippenham back-line was resolute.
As the opening period went on we continued to create all of the chances, with Ben Harding at the heart of all of our good work, but found the opposition goalkeeper in good form to thwart our attempts as we went in goalless at the break.
Rocky Neal was introduced into the action at the break and it didn’t take him long to make his mark – six minutes, in fact – before he was able to find the net to put us deservedly in front.
In the wake of the goal, a corner caused problems for the visitors as they were forced to scramble clear as we looked to double our advantage.
Whilst we continued to enjoy most of the possession, we had to be wary of Chippenham on the counter-attack and as long as there was only one goal in it, they were very much still in the game despite being second-best for long periods.
A brave block denied the in-form Noah Keats as he looked to make the game safe with just over ten minutes to go and then late on, our opponents were reduced to ten men when Sandell was dismissed.
With his departure went any hopes that Chippenham had of salvaging a point as we ran out 1-0 winners to move up to second place in the table.
WHITE TIGERS: McHale, Palfrey, Riley-Lowe, Palmer, Gerring, Hartridge, Lamont, Keats, Harvey, Cooke (Neal 46), Harding. Subs not used: Todd, Yetton, Allen, Thompson.
ATTENDANCE: 288.
