Disappointing home reverse at the hands of Oxford City...

THE WHITE Tigers let a two-goal half-time lead slip to lose 3-2 at home to Oxford City.
There was a scrappy opening to the game with the visitors seeing more of the ball without causing any problems for The White Tigers’ back-line.
We managed to get in front on ten minutes when a corner was delivered invitingly onto the head of skipper, Ben Gerring, who was up from the back to plant his effort home beyond the reach of the ‘keeper.
Our visitors continued to see plenty of the ball but it wasn’t long before they found themselves two goals behind when Tyler Harvey linked up with Aaron Lamont who made a positive break towards goal before chipping home with a neat finish.
Despite finding themselves two goals behind, Oxford City continued to cause problems and Tom McHale did well to deny Paterson before another raid shortly afterwards ended with Connor Riley-Lowe clearing from in front of goal.
Just past the half-hour mark and McEachran hit the crossbar with an effort for the visitors before Poku fired over from the rebound.
A probing ball from Rocky Neal picked out Tyler Harvey who managed to get in a strike that flashed wide but the half ended with us two goals to the good despite having to work hard defensively.
The visitors pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the opening exchanges of the second half when Austen Booth fouled McEachran in the area and Paterson stepped up to slot home to make it 2-1.
The scores were level just past the hour-mark when Nombre got in a strike that found its way into the top corner beyond the despairing dive of McHale.
Worse was to follow on 78 minutes when Nombre won the ball before striding through and confidently slotting beyond the exposed McHale.
The final ten minutes saw us pushing for a leveller but it wasn’t to be as our visitors held firm without too many problems to secure all three points from a game in which they trailed by two goals at the break.
