White Tigers well beaten at Oxford City...

THE WHITE Tigers saw our impressive run of recent form come to an end with a 4-0 reverse at Oxford City.
The home side were denied by a smart stop from Rivers early on, whilst at the other end, Grimes headed over after a free-kick caused concern for the home defence.
Genuine chances were at a premium at either end in the opening exchanges until the home side were awarded a penalty ten minutes before the break, which Tshimanga stepped up to find the net.
As we looked for an instant response, Harvey went close when his effort rattled the woodwork with the ‘keeper beaten.
At the other end, Rivers saved well before a timely challenge from Jamie Richards denied our hosts a second on the stroke of half-time.
There was an equally cagey start to the second half but Oxford were able to extend their lead on the hour-mark when a corner found Oastler who made no mistake.
It made our task even more tricky and even though we made three changes, it couldn’t prevent the home side from going further ahead when Nombe fired home.
The home side started to enjoy some neat passages of play as they saw plenty of the ball and went close to adding to their lead on a several occasions, including a double clearance in front of goal after a free-kick was menacingly pumped into the danger zone.
There was still time for a last minute penalty for our hosts which was saved by Rivers only for Otudeko to be alert to the rebound to complete the scoring.
In fairness, we were never really able to get into our stride as we came home pointless.
