Goalless away draw sets up replay...

THE WHITE Tigers played out a goalless draw at Edgar Street on Saturday to set up a replay on Wednesday evening.
It was a cagey opening to the game as both sides sussed each other out. A free-kick for the home side was well kept out by Woollacott as the home side looked to get a foothold in the game.
There was a goal ruled out for the home side on 20 minutes as Kieran Thomas found the net but the referee had already blown up for a foul in the build-up.
Another smart save by Woollacott denied Marlon Jackson who was making his debut for the home side before appeals for a home penalty were waved away after Mike McGrath went down inside the area.
Lance Smith was the latest played to be thwarted by Woollacott in our goal as we went in at the break with the scores locked at 0-0.
We started to get into our stride as the second half began with Jon-Paul Pittman going close and then Alex Hartridge unlucky with a towering header from a corner which flew just over.
It prompted the home side back into life as Jamie Bird went close and then Jackson had a powerful drive deflected over.
We continued to work hard to frustrate our hosts whilst also looking to get forward and snatch a winner.
That all-important goal almost arrived in the final minute when Connor Riley-Lowe did well inside the area only to see his effort cleared off the line.
It was dramatic stuff and the home side also went close in stoppage time when McGrath was denied by Woollacott before with virtually the last kick, Harry White had his strike bravely blocked in front of goal.
It was this kind of resolute and determined play that saw us bring the tie back to Plainmoor as it ended goalless.
The replay will take place on Wednesday, September 26th with a 7.45pm kick-off...

WHITE TIGERS: Woollacott, Thompson, Riley-Lowe, Palmer, J. Richards, Hartridge, Harding, Keats, T. Richards, Lewington, Pittman (Rooney 64). Subs not used: Gardner, Palfrey, Smallcombe, Bignot.
