First success of the season as Leigh Robinson makes winning start...

THE WHITE Tigers began our exciting new era in appropriate fashion with an excellent 2-0 win at Gloucester City, our first victory of the campaign in Leigh Robinson’s first game at the helm.
It was a cagey opening to proceedings with chances few and far between at either end early on as both sides looked to get a foothold in the game.
The home side slightly edged possession but our back-line, which included the returning Ben Gerring, dealt with everything that came our way.
Mawford went close for the home side just past the half-hour mark but it was The White Tigers who drew first blood when a mistake from the home ‘keeper was seized upon by Tyler Harvey who made it 1-0.
We held the single-goal advantage going into the second half and after a slow start, we got back into our stride when Niall Thompson does well with a positive break out wide to win a corner which caused problems for the home defence as they managed to scramble clear under pressure.
There was a good tempo to the game as the home side searched for a leveller and we looked to double our advantage.
As our hosts pushed up, we managed to catch them on the break as Ben Harding made it 2-0 to send the travelling faithful wild with delight.
The home side simply had no answer as we ended the game strongly with Harvey firing over.
There was a smart stop by Woollacott right at the death as we claimed an excellent away win and a clean sheet too.
A good day to start Leigh Robinson’s tenure!
