Nine men lose to Hemel Hempstead Town...

THE WHITE Tigers slipped to a 2- 1 defeat at the hands of Hemel Hempstead Town.
We carved out the first opening in the early exchanges when debutant, Dan Rooney, got in a strike that was pushed out by the ‘keeper and Niall Thompson put the rebound over.
It was the visitors who took a tenth minute lead when a cross to the far post was turned home by McCall.
As we looked to get back onto level terms, Noah Keats was unlucky to see his effort cleared from in front of goal as the visitors’ defence came under pressure.
A Connor Riley-Lowe corner was headed over by Jamie Richards before we had a goal ruled out for offside.
We were looking the most likely side as the half went on and Keats was denied by the ‘keeper as he tried his luck before a dangerously delivered free-kick from Riley-Lowe caused more concern as Louis Rooney was penalised for a foul on the ‘keeper.
The blustery conditions were playing their part in proceedings as Jojo Wollacott did well to deny the visitors just before the interval as we went in at the break trailing by a single goal.
It didn’t take long after the restart for the scores to be levelled when Tyler Harvey won a free-kick in a promising position and as River Allen put in an inviting ball into the danger zone, Dan Rooney was alert to guide home from in front goal as the visitors tried in vain to keep the ball out.
With our tails up, Thompson was denied as he looked to break inside the area before Ed Palmer also had an opportunity which he failed to take advantage of.
There was another great chance shortly afterwards when Thompson made good progress out wide and his pull-back found Dan Rooney who was denied on the line.
We were asking all the questions at this stage but the visitors began to get into their stride once more and it developed into something of an end-to-end affair.
Riley-Lowe and Keats both tried their luck only to find the ‘keeper alert whilst at the other end, Wollacott also had to be at his best to deny our opponents.
There was a blow with around eight minutes to go when a corner picked out the head of Yakubu who gave Hemel Hempstead the lead once more.
There was drama to come when both teams were reduced to ten men in quick succession as Palmer was dismissed for The White Tigers and then Osborn received his marching orders for the visitors.
As the clock ticked down, Harvey went close for levelling matters only for us to be reduced to nine men as Keats became the third player to see red.
The closing stages saw manager, Leigh Robinson and his assistant, Michael Meaker, also sent to the stands as despite our efforts we were unable to find a way back into the game.
