Commanding win at Treyew Road...

The White Tigers breezed into the next round of the Buildbase FA Trophy with a convincing 4-0 victory over Weston super Mare as we marked our return to Treyew Road in fine style.
There was a chance for Lewington in the opening couple of minutes but he fired straight at the keeper.
It was an evenly matched opening with neither side able to take the initiative until Dan Rooney got away from a couple of challenges before firing home.
Within five minutes we had doubled our lead when Rooney threaded through Harvey who made no mistake.
It put us in a good position and we continued to ask questions of our opponents.
Just before the break we missed a great chance to put the game to bed when Harvey’s penalty was well saved.
It gave the visitors fresh impetus at the start of the second period as they started to get a foot hold in the game.
Thankfully a third goal duly arrived on 62 minutes to calm the nerves as an inviting ball from Thompson was seized upon by Harvey who netted his second of the game.
The visitors should have reduced the arrears but blazed over from a good position shortly afterwards.
We completed the scoring late on when Dan Rooney showed great determination to break into the area and guide the ball home as he bagged another brace.
It proved to be the ideal homecoming as we now await Monday’s second round draw with interest.
