Dartford are beaten...

THE WHITE Tigers tasted victory at Plainmoor for the first time this season with a good 3-1 success over Dartford.
There was a cagey opening to the game. Our first opening came on ten minutes when Niall Thompson put in an inviting ball that was headed just over by Lewington.
It was to be Lewington’s last action as he picked up a knock shortly afterwards that saw him forced to leave the action.
There were a couple of chances in quick succession at either end as firstly Jamie Richards fired over from distance before the visitors went close with a header.
The opening goal arrived just past the half-hour mark when Dan Rooney squared the ball into the path of Tyler Harvey who made no mistake at the far post.
As the visitors looked to hit back straight away, they found Corey Harvey in good form to keep them at bay with a couple of smart saves.
At the other end of the field, his brother, Tyler Harvey, rattled the woodwork just moments before he doubled our advantage right on the stroke of half-time.
There was still time for a third goal to arrive when a free-kick from Connor Riley-Lowe was half-cleared as far as Nick Grimes, who was signed from Cinderford Town, where he was captain, on the eve of the game, and he fired home to put us – and him – into dreamland!
The second period started with our shell-shocked visitors battling to get back into it and they kept us on our toes early on with a number of chances.
A free-kick was well kept out by Harvey, who was in goal following Jojo Wollacott’s return to Bristol City.
Some nice link-up play between Thompson and Harvey ended with the latter just off target before a positive break by River Allen ended with him unable to find a finish to match his endeavours.
Both sides were playing some decent stuff and we went close when a corner found the head of Jamie Richards whose deft effort landed just wide.
With ten minutes to go Harvey was denied a hat-trick by a fine save from the ‘keeper and the same two players were involved in the next action, with the same result.
The closing stages saw us cruising to the three points, although we were denied a clean sheet right at the end when a corner was headed home to make it 3-1.
