White Tigers secure three points at Slough Town...

THE WHITE Tigers overturned a one-goal deficit to return to winning ways with a 2-1 victory at Slough Town.
We came out of the blocks with purpose and Lewington went close early on as he fired into the side-netting before Thompson saw an effort from distance gathered by the ‘keeper without too many problems.
Despite the early efforts on goal, we fell behind when the home side found the net with their first chance when Dobson scored from close range.
The goal brought the home side to life and they almost added a second soon afterwards as Jamie Richards defended well to keep them at bay.
We managed to put the ball in the net just past the 20-minute mark as Grimes headed home a free-kick from Riley-Lowe only for an offside flag to halt his celebrations.
It was end-to-end stuff as the home side rattled the woodwork and Dobson went close with a free-kick before we managed to level the scores as Dan Rooney showed determination to make it 1-1.
We swept forward soon afterwards as Allen feed Harvey who was thwarted by a fine save and not to be out-done, Rivers produced a good stop of his own at the other end as the clock ticked down at the end of the opening period.
Right on the stroke of half-time, Dan Rooney fired us into the lead with a sweet strike from distance.
It meant that we started the second period with a spring in our step and we almost added to our lead when Allen’s free-kick found its way to Keats who fired just over.
As the home side pushed for a leveller, Rivers did well on a few occasions to deny them, whilst Jamie Richards put his body on the line amongst the back-line to frustrate our hosts.
On the hour, Harvey was unlucky as his effort was well saved whilst the home side had a penalty appeal waved away as Rivers made another good stop.
The home side were seeing more of the ball but we were frustrating them and tempers boiled over with around 20 minutes to go which ended with a yellow card for Allen plus Dobson for the hosts.
Some good pressure from Dan Rooney almost saw him rewarded as he put the ‘keeper under pressure.
It was a nervy ending as we held on to our lead to secure a hard-earned, yet deserved three points.
