More history created with win at Hampton & Richmond Borough...

YET MORE history has been made by this talented Truro City side as they have taken the club into the first round proper of the Emirates FA Cup for the very first time courtesy of a superb 2-0 victory at Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Not only did we hand our hosts their first defeat in ten games, but we also became the first Cornish club to reach this stage of the best domestic Cup competition in the world since 1969.
The opening period was cagey with neither side willing to commit. Having played out a closely-fought encounter in the League only seven days previously, both sides knew all about each other and it showed.
Genuine chances were at a distinct premium at either end and it was little surprise that we went into the interval with the scoreline locked at 0-0, although Tom McHale did make two smart saves to deny both Napa and Sweeney.
The breakthrough finally arrived on the hour-mark when Noah Keats found the net for The White Tigers after a throw-in had been flicked into his path. It was a neat finish by the accomplished midfielder and it put us in the driving seat.
In the aftermath of the goal, Cody Cooke went close to doubling our advantage before our hosts were presented with a great chance to level matters from the penalty spot with seven minutes to go.
However, McHale was to come to the fore with a smart save to maintain our lead.
As the clock ticked down we had to show our resolute and determined side to keep the home side at bay.
Victory was sealed with just three minutes left on the clock when Keats popped up for his second goal of the afternoon with a low strike from distance that nestled into the back of the net to write our names into history.

WHITE TIGERS: McHale, Palfrey, Riley-Lowe, Richards, Gerring, Hartridge, Lamont, Keats, Neal, Cooke (Yetton 89), Allen (Harvey 89). Subs not used: Todd, Copp, Thompson, Booth.
ATTENDANCE: 784.
