Another road trip as we head to Welling United...

THE WHITE Tigers slipped to our second League defeat in a row on Tuesday evening when we succumbed to a Matt Paterson-inspired Oxford City by three goals to one.
“It was our game in hand and we are disappointed that we couldn’t take advantage of it,” admitted manager, Lee Hodges. “We just weren’t at it and didn’t deserve anything from the game, to be honest.
“That said, it’s only our sixth defeat of the season so we have to give it some perspective. We’ve come a long way this season and we’re still doing extremely well in a strong position in the table.”
Our next challenge comes in the form of a trip to Welling United on Saturday.
The Wings, who were our opponents on the opening day of the season, sit in tenth place in the table, just three points behind us. They have won four and lost four of their ten home League games so far.
“I am confident that we will respond in the right way,” added Hodges. “The lads are desperate to get back out there and put things right.
“We’ll come back stronger but we know that we’re in for another difficult game.”
River Allen’s last minute goal gave us a thrilling 3-2 victory over Welling United on that sunny August day at Treyew Road.
