Treyew Road action on Tuesday evening as we host Wealdstone...

THE WHITE Tigers returned to winning ways at the weekend with a deserved 2-0 victory over Eastbourne Borough.
It was a result which sees us go into Tuesday’s home encounter with Wealdstone in upbeat mood.
“I felt that it was a really good response on Saturday after a poor month in January,” admitted manager, Leigh Robinson. “We spoke about the need to write January off, start afresh in February and how we would go about changing the dynamic.
“The players did brilliantly to carry that out, to be fair. We also felt it became even more important to win with the lack of games in the division as Saturday pretty much became one of our games in hand.
“On the balance of chances, we were worthy winners. We scored goals at key times, early to settle us down and the clincher just as we were getting a bit worried that we hadn't extended our lead past 1-0 going into the last quarter of the game.
“The three points were important but arguably we were even more pleased with the clean sheet, which have been hard to come by this season and certainly a step in the right direction after our defensive displays in January.
“We now have two more tough games this week, starting at home on Tuesday evening to a Wealdstone side that are chasing the play-offs and then away to a Billericay Town side that are already sitting in the play-offs.
“It’s a bit of bad timing to be coming up Billericay now as they have got themselves going recently whereas in December they were in a bit of turmoil and were losing a lot of matches.
“That’s something we have to deal with at the weekend, though. We'll enjoy the challenge and realistically if we can come away with six points from Eastbourne Borough, Wealdstone and Billericay Town, that will represent a good week for us.”
