THE WHITE Tigers are back on the road on Saturday as we travel to East Sussex to take on Whitehawk (kick-off 3.00pm).
Whilst our hosts find themselves cut adrift at the bottom of the table with just 11 points from their 26 League matches, seven of those points have come in their last three games.
It’s been a bright start to 2018 for Steve King’s side as they followed up an excellent 4-1 win at Eastbourne Borough on New Year’s Day with a 2-2 home draw with Bognor Regis Town and then a hard-earned 1-0 success at Oxford City last weekend.
Now their aim is to get their first win of the season on home soil, but they come across a Truro City side who are unbeaten in our last five League games and determined to maintain our challenge amongst the leading pack having seen our home game against Concord Rangers fall victim of the wet weather last weekend.
We chalked up a convincing 7-2 victory over Whitehawk back in September and will be looking to complete the double over them, but manager, Lee Hodges, knows that we will be in for another tough assignment.
“As has been proven throughout the season so far, everyone is capable of beating each other in this League and even though our visitors currently find themselves at the bottom half of the table, they have been in good form since the turn of the year,” he said. “They have brought a few new faces in and will go into the game with renewed belief and confidence.
“Like always, we’re going to have to be right it at from the very first whistle to the last if we are to get any reward.
“Our aim going into the season was to be in and around the leading pack and that is certainly the case at the moment. We have to concentrate on what we do and not concern ourselves about what is going on elsewhere.
“The next game is always the most important and we will be focussed on getting the right result today and extending our unbeaten run.”
Meanwhile River Allen has this week been allowed to link up with Tiverton Town on loan in a bid to get some game time.
We encourage as many of you as possible to come along and give us your support...
