THE WHITE Tigers are in Buildbase FA Trophy second round action on Saturday as we head to Stockport County in the second round (kick-off 3.00pm).
It’s been quite a week as we played our first League game at Treyew Road since the end of last season and grabbed a stoppage time winner to defeat St. Albans City before the following day it was confirmed that we would be returning to Treyew Road for the remainder of the campaign.
Manager, Leigh Robinson, will be minus a number of players through a combination of injury and unavailability for the trip to Edgeley Park.
Our hosts currently sit third in the Vanarama National League North table having lost just two of their 13 home League games.
They won 1-0 at local rivals, Altrincham, in the previous round whilst we overcame the challenge of Weston super Mare with a resounding 4-0 victory.
“Everyone knows that our priority is moving up the League table, but we will go there and give it everything we’ve got,” admitted manager, Leigh Robinson. “We’ll be down to the bare bones in terms of the personnel available and we know that it will be tough as they are a strong side, but we’ll give it our best shot.
“We go into the game on the back of a really important win on Tuesday evening against a good St. Albans side who are in great form.
“The last ten minutes reminded me very much of the Dulwich game where it was very open with both teams really pushing for the winner and you felt one team was definitely going to win it.
“Luckily Louis [Rooney] provided a quality finish when it mattered and I’m really pleased for him after enduring a frustrating time recently with injury.
“We’ll take the confidence from this result with us into Saturday’s game.”
