Yetton hat-trick as we overcome Falmouth Town challenge...
THE WHITE Tigers recorded a resounding 6-0 victory over Falmouth Town on Saturday to claim the Aubrey Wilkes Trophy.
It didn’t take long for us to take the lead as there were just two minutes on the clock when a ball to the far post was volleyed home sweetly by Cody Cooke.
The lead was doubled when Noah Keates, who is looking to earn a deal at the club, swept the ball home before Niall Thompson added a third just before the break.
It was certainly a competitive encounter with City giving a good account of themselves.
With 67 minutes on the clock, Marcello Jones did well out wide and his inviting cross found Stewart Yetton who had the simple task of stroking the ball home from close range.
It wasn’t long before Yetton had the ball in the back of the net again – this time from the penalty spot.
Five goals to the good and The White Tigers took their foot off the pedal somewhat. However there was still time for Yetton to complete his hat-trick as he turned the ball home at the near post following an Austen Booth cross.
It completed a good afternoon’s work for Lee Hodges’ side in front of a crowd of 361, for whom we thank for their support.
