PACY wide-man, Niall Thompson, has reiterated the important role that The White Tigers’ supporters have to play as we look to bounce back from our Emirates FA Cup disappointment.

“I’ve never experienced camaraderie quite like that which exists here between the fans and players,” admitted the former Torquay United youngster who arrived at Treyew Road in the summer having previously had a loan spell here. “I only have good things to say about the supporters; they have been right behind us in every game so far and they are going to be so important to push us on now.

“Having come so close to getting promotion last season there seems to be that extra drive and determination amongst the fans to make sure that we continuing moving in the right direction.

“It isn’t going to be easy because the standard of this League is improving all the time. There’s players coming down from League’s One and Two to play at this level and the quality is better than ever in my opinion.

“I believe that last season’s success was built on keeping clean sheets and we know that we have to do that more often, because at the other end of the field we have the ability to score goals.

“Whilst we’re only a small group, we’re really tight-knit and we’ve been working hard as a unit to get things right and kick-on.”
