On-loan 'keeper keen to play his part...

THERE was a new name in goal for The White Tigers at Weston super Mare as Bristol City youngster, Joe Wollacott arrived on an emergency loan to act as cover for injured England C International, Tom McHale.
The move came about pretty quickly, but Wollacott stepped in and kept a clean sheet as we secured an important 2-0 win to keep our play-off dreams very much alive.
“There was no time to be excited or nervous, everything happened very quickly,” admitted the 21 year-old who has had previous loan spells with the likes of Weymouth, Bergsoy IL of Norway, Bath City and Woking. “It was a case of me coming in and hitting the ground running to do a job for the team., which I felt I did.
“It was a big game for the club and I felt that I just needed to do the basics well and obviously keep the ball out of the net, so I was delighted to keep a clean sheet and help us get the three points.
“Everyone has made me feel so welcome. There’s a great bunch of lads here and they helped me to settle pretty quickly. Having a few familiar faces in the team also made life that bit easier too.
“As a young goalkeeper who is learning his trade it’s great for me to get a chance to show what I can do at a club that has something to play for. You want to be playing in big games.”
Wollacott was particularly impressed with the travelling White Tigers’ faithful.
“The supporters are class,” he said without hesitation. “To make the trip to Weston super Mare on a Tuesday night shows their dedication and they backed us throughout the game.
“That kind of support is going to be vital for us again on Saturday. It’s another massive game but one that we are really looking forward to.”
