Exeter City striker Jamie Reid is returning to the form which saw him picked for Northern Ireland's Under 21 side, according to boss Paul Tisdale.

Reid, 21, has been recalled from a loan spell at Truro City.

He scored three goals in five matches for the National League South side after a year out with a hip injury.

"Jamie's gone down there and very quickly recovered the form I think he probably had two or three years ago," Tisdale told BBC Sport.

Reid got his chance with Northern Ireland in the summer of 2013 after breaking into the Exeter side, but a hip problem meant he missed most of last season.

"He had that horrendous year missed through injury and it's taken him a long time to recover his belief and his confidence, but it's back," added Tisdale.

"Truro have played a part in that, so thank you very much to them, and Jamie's working particualrly hard and he's shown some form that I saw in him a couple of years ago.

"That's particularly exciting for all of us and for Jamie himself. Jamie offers us something which I thought was worth bringing him back for and having him in the squad for the first team."
