The FA is investigating the pitch invasion at the end of the match

Truro City has been informed that the FA is investigating the incident at the end of the match at Weadstone last Saturday in which several individuals ran onto the pitch. League regulations state clearly that it is an offence for spectators to enter the field of play.

Truro City has made it clear to the FA that the individuals concerned are not associated with the club but the matter is now out of our hands. The match video provided by Wealdstone clearly shows the culprits and investigations will proceed accordingly.

It's particularly disappointing that the FA have had cause to launch an investigation of this kind for the second time this season as the game at Maidenhead against Hayes and Yeading was also interrupted by individuals coming onto the pitch.

As a result of the actions of these individuals, the club is now facing a range of possible sanctions, including financial penalties and points deductions.

As supporters will be aware, substantial investment has been made in recent weeks to enable the club to continue to compete in the National League and, potentially the play offs. The club does not need the added burden of fines imposed as a result of the actions of a minority of individuals.

And a points deduction would, of course, completely undermine all the efforts of the team on the pitch, including the heroic comeback at Wealdstone on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Truro City reminds all spectators that any unauthorised individuals entering the field of play at Treyew Road will be subject to an immediate ban.
