TRURO CITY WILL BE PLAYING AT TREYEW ROAD NEXT SEASON!

I am very pleased to announce that I have been able to agree a compromise with Helical the Developers and JIL the owners of Treyew Road today which will mean that we will be playing Football at Treyew Road for the whole of next season.

It’s been no secret that I was not in favour of a ground share especially with promotion to the National South. That said under no circumstances would I have allowed the Club to become groundless at anytime. It was simply not an option however unpalatable it may have been to some.

The compromise is that Silver Bow ground will still be of Conference Grade A Specification but it will now incorporate a 3G in lieu of the Grass Pitch. This of course is fine for the National South League and below but not accepted at this time in the National League and above. I understand the 3G may well be accepted in the National League in the not too distance future.

The benefits of a 3G playing surface are well known and I do believe that Truro City will be able to take full advantage of this surface in the coming years particularly in the Youth Development plans and Training. The installation of the 3G Pitch at Silver Bow has now increased the capital commitment to the project by Helical to 3.8m. The 3G surface will reduce the possibility of any delays in the build time of Silver Bow and enable Helical to have early possession of Treyew Road.

It’s a another good day for all Truro City Supporters
