TRURO City FC have ruled out any future ground-sharing arrangements

with Torquay United and confirmed we will not share Bodmin Town’s Priory Park home next season.

The news emerged after talks also confirmed a timetable for plans to build a new Stadium for Cornwall.

Special planning meetings for those involved in the Stadium for Cornwall project are due to take place ‘in the very near future’.

Work on the project near Truro is due to start in spring 2018, ready for opening in September the following year.

Cornish Pirates and Truro & Penwith College are joining forces with Truro City and the club’s developer partner, to deliver the Stadium for Cornwall at Langarth Farm, near Threemilestone.

A multi-use sports and education facility, it will house the College Business Centre, plus elite sport, hospitality, catering and teaching facilities. The stadium will have an initial capacity of 6,000, extendable to 10,000.

White Tigers’ Chairman, Peter Masters, and Torquay United owner, Clarke Osborne, have also been in talks.

“Both Truro and Torquay can have certainty about plans going forward,” admitted Mr. Masters. “There is no longer any chance of Truro City sharing with Torquay United.
“All the talks have been amicable and there’s no bad feeling anywhere. We both felt it would be the best thing for both clubs.

“The National League was not keen on us ground-sharing with Torquay anyway and wanted us to find a Cornish alternative.”
